Έχουμε φρέσκα νέα για το Turbo Kit της AVO - αναφορά από το miata.net από μέλος που επισκέφτηκε το περίπτερο τους στη SEMA:

"I spent some time at the AVO booth today and they are a very interesting company that makes some great go-fast products. I spent most of my time talking to Terry Wilson, Managing director. AVO has offices in Melbourne Australia, Tokyo Japan, Chonburi Thailand, and Seattle Washington in the good old US of A. Terry lives in Thailand and has been building turbo race motors since the ‘70s.

AVO has been building turbo motors for the MX-5 since the 1600 NA. Terry says they still sell a couple of 1600 kits a week in Australia and back in the day a number of kits were sold in the US.

They have had a 1500 ND for five months and have had a turbo on it for a couple. Mechanically, the 1500 kit is done, they are still working on the tune before they call it ready for prime time. Terry didn’t want to talk about power numbers at SEMA, but expected to release dyno charts in two weeks or so. They have not done a 2.0 yet. The basic difference in the kit is the exhaust manifold and the turbo itself. All the other hardware carries over. They expect the 2.0 kit to be available in the US in the first quarter of '16.

As far as what to expect for power for the 2.0, I think their kit for the FRS, BRZ, and other variations of the GT-86 found around the planet should give us a clue. This kit pretty consistently makes about 250 HP at the wheels on low boost, so approximately 287 at the crank on the 91 goat piss most of us have to run. Running 10.7 PSI of boost they can hit 300. They are making 380 HP at the wheels with E85. The 86 twins have eight injectors, four direct and four port, the ND only four, so ND may not be able to replicate those ethanol numbers.

There are a number of things I like about the AVO ND turbo kit. The first is the exhaust manifold. The unit I took a picture of below is a prototype. The production manifold will be cast in thick wall stainless so it will be very durable. They have a lot of experience with cast stainless. The 2.0 manifold will be about 2” wider. The second thing I like is it uses the stock air box. So when you pop the hood you have to know what you are looking for to see the turbo kit. The third thing I like is the intercooler fits with no cutting. I don’t think this would be a hard kit to install."
